Savannah's First Day of 1st Grade!

Savannah started 1st grade yesterday! When I asked Savannah what she liked most about 1st grade, she said, "playing on a new playground that has monkey bars." Ha!

Lap Full of Love

Grandma Barbara and her 3 Grands: Harper (2), Hadley (9 months), and Savannah (6)

Day at the Lake

Yesterday we spent a fun family day at Falls Lake with Grandma Barbara, Uncle Benny, Aunt EJ, and Cousin Harper. Falls Lake is about 20 minutes from our house and has a family-friendly beach that includes swimming, grilling, and playing areas. It was a beautiful day in a beautiful setting with our wonderful family. It was the perfect way to wrap up Savannah's last summer weekend before she starts 1st grade on Monday!

Savannah wanted to show me that she could swim to the yellow line
(where the water is over her head)...

...and she made it!

Savannah was so proud of her accomplishment!

We grilled hamburgers and hot dogs for lunch...

...and relaxed while we waited for the food to cook:

Home is where love resides sign

Since Hadley was born 9 months ago, my hands have been full (both literally and figuratively...but it's all worth it!). Since I don't have time for painting and DIY projects, a few months ago I decided that I would focus on adding artwork and accessories to our home in 2015. I can easily shop for accessories online or hang pictures while Hadley is napping or crawling around my legs. That's why I recently did our staircase photo wall and hung the marsh painting at the top of our stairs:

This week I hung this sign in our entry. I bought it from this seller on Etsy

I love the words in the sign, as well as how the teal and white colors
complement our home's color scheme:
