Cousins Weekend

On December 13-14, we were blessed to have
Grandma Barbara, Uncle Benny and Harper stay at our house:

Hadley (who was 9 weeks old at the time)
met her cousin Harper for the first time!

Grandma Barbara and her 3 grands...together for the first time!

Savannah and Hadley had a great time
swinging on the glider in our backyard:

Check out Harper's adorable pig tails!

In the pictures below, Hadley is wearing the pink and brown outfit
that Savannah bought for Hadley before she was born.
Savannah beams with pride every time Hadley wears it!

Rub-a-Dub-Dub

So far, Hadley loves taking a bath!

She enjoys splashing and kicking her legs:

She coos and smiles when I pour water on her belly and feet:

A good bath relaxes Hadley when she is fussy or has a stuffy nose:

All clean! Time to dry off!
After her bath, Hadley loves the sound and warmth of the hair dryer.
She stretches out, closes her eyes, basks in the warmth...and often takes a good nap!

Damage Control

A couple nights ago, Tal and I heard a loud boom while we were watching TV. We were shocked to discover that our built-in grill (which was 15 years old) had collapsed. Perhaps the wood was rotten? Earlier today, someone from the local gas company came to our house, checked for gas leaks, and disconnected the gas line for safety reasons. This weekend we'll be cleaning up the mess, taking the trash to the dump, and repairing the broken deck railing.

Christmas 2014

Today the four of us celebrated a low-key Christmas at our house. Tal and Savannah slept until 8:45 A.M. Then, Savannah was excited to open her presents.

An adorable hat from my dear friend Sarah who lives in Illinois:

Thanks to Tal who worked really hard to prepare our yummy Christmas feast
while I took care of Hadley and Savannah:

Prime Rib
(seasoned with peppercorns and a variety of salts)

We also enjoyed corn-on-the-cob, biscuits, and red beans and rice.
For dessert, Tal made chocolate chess pie:

Since Tal has to work tomorrow, it was nice to stay home for
Christmas, relax, and enjoy a delicious meal with our family:

Hadley's First Christmas!

Last Christmas Hadley was our dream and our prayer. Today our family celebrated our first Christmas with Hadley (who will be 11 weeks old tomorrow). What a difference a year makes! God is good!

Tummy Time

Hadley, who is 10.5 weeks old, has tummy time every day:

However, she hasn't started rolling over yet:

As shown below, though, Hadley can roll half-way:

She can roll from her tummy to her side...

...or from her back to her side:

Hadley is making progress and will roll over when she's ready!

Disney's Frozen on Ice

On December 14, Grandma Barbara and I took Savannah
to see Disney's Frozen on Ice at the local arena:

Savannah, who is a huge fan of the movie, loved seeing
the story of Elsa and Anna brought to life on ice:

Grandma treated Savannah to a $15 snow cone:

The costumes, music, and skating were impressive
and made the event memorable for the three of us!
