Fall Vacation: Part 4 (NC State Fair)

This is my last post about our fall vacation and my mom's visit! On October 13, our family (along with Grandma Judy) had a great time at the NC State Fair, which is one of our favorite annual events. We enjoyed visiting the exhibits and riding the rides. After we ran out of ride tickets, we ate a funnel cake and deep fried pecan pie before we headed home. We look forward to going to the fair again next year!

One of our favorite annual traditions is to have Savannah and Hadley weighed at the State Fair:

Fall Vacation: Part 3 (Pullen Park)

Our family enjoyed having Grandma Judy stay with us from October 10-14! On October 14, Grandma Judy and I took Savannah and Hadley to a local park. We spent about 3 hours playing on the playgrounds, as well as riding the kiddie boats and carousel.  At the park, we joined our friend Linda and her grandson Tyson. It was a fun, affordable, and family-friendly way to spend the day with friends and eat a picnic lunch!

We have been to Pullen Park many times, and this is the first time Savannah climbed to the top of the "spider web:"

Savannah was so brave!

Hadley loved riding the see-saw with Grandma Judy!

Grandma's 100th Birthday Party (in Oct 2015)

My Grandma Rowell celebrated her 101st birthday last week! Last year, in October 2015, Savannah, Hadley, and I flew to Illinois to celebrate my Grandma's 100th birthday. We enjoyed seeing family and friends and celebrating Grandma's milestone birthday.  (This post is for my mom who has patiently waited a year for me to post the rest of my pictures from Grandma's birthday weekend.)

Up until a few years ago, Grandma loved to sew and make crafts.
She kept a collection of buttons for her projects:

My Aunt Joy (my mom's sister) created these hand-written timelines for each decade of Grandma's life. Each timeline includes important world events and inventions, as well as family photos and what was happening in Grandma's life during that time:
