Camping in Mount Airy

Last weekend our family met in the mountains of NC to celebrate the birthdays of Grandma Barbara, Tal, and Hadley. We camped in Mount Airy, visited Blowing Rock, hiked up to the mile high swinging bridge on Grandfather Mountain, drove on the Blue Ridge Parkway, and hiked around the knob on Pilot Mountain. It was a beautiful fall weekend to get some fresh air and exercise, spend time in nature, and enjoy some family time!

The 8 of us stayed in the awesome camper that Grandma Barbara, Uncle Benny, and Aunt EJ bought recently.

Savannah and Hadley loved sleeping in the bunk room with Harper.

Hadley will be 6 on October 10!

Hadley loved playing with the Pixie Belle that she received from Uncle Benny, Aunt EJ, and Harper.

Hadley received $50 from Grandma Barbara and can't wait to go shopping at Target this week!

Hadley loved the birthday balloons from Grandma Barbara.

Tal will be 47 on October 3!

Coronavirus Chronicles: Part 15

 Duck Donuts for Dessert

Savannah made hand bracelets for her friends:

Since the governor reopened the playgrounds three weeks ago, our family has enjoyed exploring a few parks and playgrounds in our area.

Rolling down the hill

On Saturday morning, Tal participated in the F3 Deacon. The girls and I cheered for Tal while he ran 9.7 miles and completed five 15-minute workouts in 3.5 hours.

The girls and I set-up and passed out water and refreshments (bagels, oranges, and watermelon) at the halfway point and finish line.

The Deacon finish line was at a park, so the girls played while we waited for Tal to cross the finish line.

Tal carried the American and F3 flags during the last four miles of the race.
They were heavy!

Labor Day

On Labor Day, the girls and I woke up early and took a day trip to Wrightsville Beach. It was a gorgeous, sunny day in the 70's. We spent the day playing in the waves and sand. It was a beautiful and relaxing day!

Coronavirus Chronicles: Part 14

My grandma, who will be 105 on October 27, was moved to a nursing home on August 26. Due to Covid-19, the nursing home is on lockdown and no visitors are allowed. My grandma is being quarantined for two weeks. However, my mom still visits Grandma every day and talks to her outside through her bedroom window.

Hadley has enjoyed doing the early word puzzles in the book below. She can read all of the words in the book!

The girls and I arrive at school at 6:45 A.M. each day for temperature checks. The girls love eating mac and cheese for breakfast in my office until it is time to go to their classroom at 7:15 A.M.

Sadly, the Daddy-Daughter Dance was canceled in April due to Covid-19. At church today, Hadley loved wearing the turquoise sequin dress she picked out for the dance...as well as her gold sparkly high heels. She was a pretty princess!

On September 4, the governor opened playgrounds, which have been closed for nearly 6 months due to the pandemic. This weekend Savannah and Hadley were so excited to play at the park in our neighborhood. They loved swinging, climbing, and riding the zipline. To stay safe, we practiced social distancing and used hand sanitizer.

After playing at the park, we enjoyed eating sno-cones outside. Hadley got a unicorn sno-cone, while Savannah got a grape and mango sno-cone.
