Our family started building Savannah's playset today!
We're so grateful that Tal's mom, brother, and uncle drove 3 hours from the beach to help us.
I love how our family pitches in to help one another:
Today was a cold winter day with temps in the 20's and 30's,
so we assembled some pieces in our garage, where it wasn't as cold:
Grandma Barbara drilled the "rocks" onto Savannah's rock wall:
Grandma Barbara and Savannah warmed their hands
near the propane fire we set up in the garage:
Tal and Uncle Kenny built the A-frame that will hold up the swing beam:
All hands were needed to build the slide:

While everyone else was building the playset, I took care of Savannah and played with her.
Savannah bundled up, sat in her chair in the garage, and watched a show on the iPad:
We also played in Mommy's car:
Some silly selfies in Mommy's car:
For lunch, Savannah and I picked up burgers from Char-Grill for everyone:
After lunch, we moved the assembled pieces to our backyard:
Uncle Kenny and Uncle Benny put the clubhouse frame into place
and checked to make sure that the ground was level:
Savannah kept saying that she was digging for a treasure.
So cute!
Digging for candy:
Tal drilled the floor boards for Savannah's clubhouse:
Savannah stood on her playset for the first time!
Here is Savannah clapping her hands and stomping
her feet while she listened to a song on the iPad:
When we went inside to get warmed up,
Savannah fell asleep on the couch:
Building the second level!
Today was a long, cold day.
Progress was slow...even with 4 adults who had construction experience.
The directions were tedious, confusing...and often wrong.
After 9.5 hours, we stopped working when we ran out of daylight:
We plan to finish Savannah's playset tomorrow!
