Backyardigans: Reveal!

Tal and I started our 2014 yard makeover on December 8, 2013:

We completed our project 6 months and 22 posts later!

Over the last 6 months, Tal and I have built Savannah's play area...

...laid 48 rolls of sod in our backyard...

...and spread 7 truckloads of mulch around the exterior of our house.

When Tal and I bought our house 3.5 years ago,
our backyard was an eyesore:

It was overrun with weeds:

Many bushes and trees were dead, dying,
and/or overgrown due to lack of maintenance:

Now all four sides of our house look attractive and well-maintained:

Before starting our 2014 backyard makeover, Tal and I saved $3,000.
We finished the project a little under budget. Here's a breakdown of our expenses:

$1,600  Playset
   $400  Plastic Playground Border
   $100  Landscape Fabric and Stakes
   $126  Mulch (7 truckloads)
     $70  Sod Cutter Rental
     $30  Dump
   $446  Sod, Compost, and Delivery
   $160  Rain Barrels
-------
$2,932

Now that Tal and I are finished with our yard makeover,
we are excited to start working on Hadley's nursery!
