15 years ago today...

On February 10, 1999, I packed up my car and moved 900 miles from Illinois to North Carolina to start my teaching career. I only knew one family in NC. Looking back, I can't believe I was so courageous and adventurous at age 22!

Below are some highlights from my first 15 years in NC:

• 1999-2007: taught 7th grade English
• 2005: bought my first house
• 2007: earned my master's degree
• 2007: got married 
• 2007: started my career as a teacher-librarian
• 2009: gave birth to Savannah
• 2010: bought our forever home
• 2012: earned my National Board Certification

I'm thankful for the Lord's faithfulness and many blessings over the last 15 years!
