Friends Beach Weekend: Part 3 (Exploring Bald Head Island)

On Saturday, August 18, the girls and I (along with our friends Amanda and Tyson) traveled 2.5 hours to Southport, NC. Then, we parked our car at the ferry terminal and took a 15-minute ferry ride from Southport to Bald Head Island, NC.

Cars aren't allowed on Bald Head Island, so we rented a 6-person golf cart to explore the beautiful and peaceful island. We had the best time climbing Old Baldy, playing at the beach, shopping at some souvenir shops, and getting ice cream for dessert!

After climbing Old Baldy, we parked at public beach access:

The beach was deserted. We enjoyed playing in the sand and dipping our feet in the water. (The water was rough, so we didn't go swimming.)

After playing at the beach, we packed up our beach gear and returned our golf cart:

Then, we enjoyed visiting some shops and eating ice cream before we boarded the ferry and checked into our hotel in Southport.

Our day trip to Bald Head Island was perfect and beautiful. Our day was filled with sunshine, outdoor activities, and new adventures with our lifelong friends!
