Australia Trip: Melbourne

Part 3 of our Australia trip--Melbourne. Our family flew 3.5 hours from Perth to Melbourne. In Melbourne, we took a bus tour on the Great Ocean Road, walked on the coast of the Southern Ocean (also known as Antarctic Ocean), visited the Twelve Apostles rock formations, spotted a sleeping koala in a eucalyptus tree, and got panoramic views from the Melbourne Skydeck on the 88th floor. Thanks to Tal for planning our memorable Australia trip to celebrate his 50th birthday!

These pine trees were common in Australia, but they look different from our pine trees in NC.

We took a 13-hour bus tour to visit the Great Ocean Road and the Twelve Apostles. We thought it was hilarious that the bus driver reserved seats for our family on the bus.

Twelve Apostles rock formations

Due to erosion, only 8 of the 12 apostles (rock formations) are left.

On the Great Ocean Road, Tal spotted this sleeping koala in a tree.

Our family walked on the Riverwalk in downtown Melbourne.

Australia proudly celebrates and promotes Christmas.

We rode an elevator to the 88th floor of the Eureka Tower. The skydeck has 360-degree views of Melbourne.
