Everyday Moments

Random phone photos from everyday life

Tal and Savannah (along with Uncle Benny and Grandma Barbara) cheered for the Carolina Hurricanes during game 5 of the 2022 NHL playoffs against the Rangers.

The girls and I hiked 1.5 miles round trip up Mount Trashmore, the highest point in our county.

Hadley wrote me this sweet note:

"About my mom. She is pretty and she plays Uno with my sister, dad, and me. She takes care of me so much."

To celebrate the end of 1st grade, I picked up PDQ for me and Hadley and ate lunch with my favorite 1st grader in our school cafeteria.

Savannah created a big, beautiful, and complex Perler bead hummingbird and camper and turned them into keychains for her school backpack.

Hadley and I go swimming in our neighborhood's Y pool almost every afternoon after school. This is the first year that Hadley is tall enough to go down the water slide!

Hadley's first time going down the water slide!

Last week Hadley earned her yellow swim band at the Y! For the swim test, Hadley swam 3/4 the length of the pool in a straight line and treaded water for 30 seconds. With her yellow swim band, Hadley can swim up to 5 feet deep without an adult. Hadley is excited to swim independently in the pool!

This week Hadley earned her black swim band at the Y! For the swim test, Hadley swam the entire length of the pool and treaded water for 30 seconds. With her black swim band, Hadley can now swim the entire pool without an adult. Hadley is so happy, excited, and proud that she can swim in the deep end (8 feet) now!

After earning her black swim band, Hadley jumped into the deep end (8 feet) all by herself!

Hadley and I went to Pelican's and shared the Butterfly sno-cone.

At her 1st grade end-of-year celebration, Hadley received the Timekeeper Award "for always keeping an eye on the clock and our class on schedule."

"For you Dad"
Hadley left this sweet note and a couple Tootsie Rolls for Tal.
