Fair Play

Today our family, including Grandma Barbara, went to the NC State Fair. The fair is one of our favorite annual events!

For weeks, we've been dreaming about eating steak sandwiches, deep fried pecan pie, and funnel cakes.

This year all of us tried the newest food at the fair--the Krispy Kreme Cheeseburger. It's a cheeseburger sandwiched between two donuts.

Although the Krispy Kreme cheeseburger was a pretty tasty sweet and salty combination, the deep fried pecan pie remains our favorite fair food.

Also, we were really excited that Savannah rode three rides this year! On the first ride, Tal and Savannah rode up and down and around in a car:

On the next ride, Grandma Barbara and Savannah rode on some rough terrain on an ATV. You can barely see Savannah's head above the dashboard!

Then, Tal and Savannah slid down the giant slide. The picture below shows Tal carrying Savannah AND the slide up many stairs to the top:

Savannah seemed a little scared when she and Tal flew down the slide. When it was all done, though, Savannah kept smiling and saying, "Whee! Whee!"

Another highlight of the day was having Savannah weighed at the fair. Below is a picture of Savannah on the scale last year. She was 8 months old and weighed 19.6 lbs.

Today our 20-month old Savannah weighed 26.1 lbs. I'm amazed by how much Savannah has grown when I look at her fair pictures from last year and this year!
