Hurricane Florence

Our family is okay after Hurricane Florence hit NC. It rained for several days, but we didn't lose power or have any damage. School was closed for three days. When Savannah and I returned to school on Tuesday this week, we discovered some water damage on the ceiling in my library:

Unfortunately, Tal's mom, brother, and grandparents lost power and had quite a bit of storm damage along the coast of NC. For a few days, Tal's mom and grandparents' homes were surrounded by two feet of water:

Tal's grandparents (who live in the white house above) had extensive damage to their roof, floors, and ceilings. On Monday morning, Tal drove to the beach and spent five days this week helping his family clean-up and repair Gran and Grandaddy's house. They pulled down the ceilings, ripped up the carpet, and scraped the roof.

On Friday afternoon, Tal and his mom were driving back to our house, and unfortunately they were in a car accident. Thankfully, they weren't hurt, but the bumper, tail light, and tail pipe on Tal's truck were damaged. After the accident, we're grateful that Tal was able to drive his truck the last two hours of his trip and arrived home safely on Friday night:

Unfortunately, we anticipate that Tal's truck will be declared a total loss due to its age, mileage, and damages. For that reason, this afternoon our family went truck shopping, so we could explore our options, compare prices, and narrow our search criteria:
