but they capture everyday moments from this week.

Savannah got a 100% on her timed multiplication test!

Savannah read three books this week!

Earlier this week, Savannah loved getting duct taped to the wall to help raise money for our school. We surpassed our fundraising goal and raised $52,000 for school technology and improvements. The best part is that our PTA will receive 100% of the donations. (No going door-to-door and selling wrapping paper or candy.) We love our school and PTA!

This morning Savannah ran in our school's Glow Run to celebrate the finale of our annual fundraiser. Savannah wore glow sticks and ran 35 laps in the dark!

Friends Beach Weekend: Part 4 (Oak Island Lighthouse and Caswell Beach)

On Sunday, August 19, the five of us woke up early, ate breakfast at our hotel, and then drove 15 minutes to Oak Island Lighthouse and Caswell Beach.

Tyson (3), Amanda, Savannah (9), Rachel, and Hadley (3)

Of the seven lighthouses along the coast of NC, the Oak Island Lighthouse is the least attractive. The lighthouse is tall and skinny and resembles a smoke stack with gray and black stripes.

Since it was Sunday, the lighthouse was closed for climbing, but we enjoyed seeing the lighthouse up close. Over the last two weeks, the girls and I have visited 3 out of 7 lighthouses along the coast of NC: Oak Island, Old Baldy, and Cape Lookout.

After we visited the lighthouse, the five of us walked across the street to Caswell Beach:

Although it was a gloomy morning on Caswell Beach, the kids enjoyed playing in the sand, collecting shells, and dipping their feet in the water before we drove home!

A sea turtle crawled onto the beach at night and buried her eggs in the sand. The area was roped off to protect the nesting sea turtles:

To remember our trip, Savannah wrote our names in the sand:

Everyday Moments

Life...unedited.
These random iPhone photos are dark, blurry, and untouched,
but they capture everyday moments from the last couple weeks.

Hadley fell asleep on me while Savannah was at her eye appointment:

While Tal was on a 10-day business trip in Ireland, one evening the girls and I played at the mall and ate dinner at Chick-fil-a:

When Tal got home from Ireland, he brought some Irish candy for the girls:

 Savannah finished chapter book #30!

Chapter Book #31

Chapter Book #32

After we explored Bald Head Island last weekend, we checked into our hotel...

...and ate Hardee's for dinner. Savannah asked me to text this picture to Tal, so he could see her eating his favorite sandwich from Hardee's (the mushroom and swiss sandwich):

Hadley was so proud of herself for doing her own make-up:

Hadley thought it was hilarious when she put stickers on my arm:

Savannah got a 100 on her timed multiplication test!

I love how Savannah wrote her favorite things were church, shopping, slime, and traveling:

On Friday night, the girls ate ice cream at the Italian bakery in our neighborhood:

This evening the girls rode along with Tal while he played a round of golf. I enjoyed having a few hours of personal time while they were gone!

Savannah and Hadley loved washing Tal's golf balls:

I've been doing Optavia for 14 weeks, and I've lost 40 lbs and dropped two sizes! I cleaned out my closet and donated two bags of clothes to Goodwill:
