Parade of Homes

On October 2 and 16, the girls and I (along with Grandma Barbara) toured 9 homes on the Parade of Homes. Due to Covid and supply chain issues, some homes were unfinished, but the Parade of Homes continues to be one of our favorite (and free) annual events. We noticed some 2021 housing trends, including black and white exteriors, light wood floors, custom hood vents, as well as patterned floor tile, custom wall treatments, and marble porcelain tile.

Great Wolf Lodge

This week the girls and I started our Thanksgiving vacation by traveling three hours to Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg, VA. We enjoyed playing with our friends Emily, Xavier, and Felix at the indoor water park, eating a buffet dinner, and playing games together. At the water park, our favorite areas were the wave pool, hot tub, water slides, and family raft ride. Great Wolf Lodge was a fun, family friendly place to spend time with our friends!

The girls were excited when our room got upgraded to a wolf den with bunk beds and a TV.

Emily and I have been friends for almost 15 years.

Happy Thanksgiving

Today our family helped Meals on Wheels and the Durham Rescue Mission by delivering Thanksgiving meals (along with dessert and a gift card) to senior citizens. Then, we made stromboli for lunch and blondies for dessert. We spent the rest of the day napping and relaxing. Tomorrow we will make and eat our turkey dinner, but today we enjoyed serving our community and practicing compassion. Happy Thanksgiving!

Everyday Moments

Random phone photos from everyday life.

Hadley put her hair in pigtails!

Savannah created these complex Perler bead creations.

We played and hiked at Main Street Park.

I snapped a photo of Hadley's writing on display in the school hallway.
"I went to school yesterday with my friends. First, I arrived at school and unpacked my backpack. Next, I worked on my journal. Last, I ate lunch."

Hadley lost tooth #4! All four teeth she has lost have been bottom teeth. The tooth fairy left $5 under Hadley's pillow.

Tal texted me this pic of Hadley napping on the couch. Hadley had a cold and stayed home from school with Tal.

A perfect fall day in NC. Sunny, Carolina blue skies, and 70 degrees.

After months of practice, Hadley can cross the monkey bars without stopping or dropping!

Hadley made cookie bars with devil's food cake and white chocolate chips.

Savannah made the A/B honor roll for 1st quarter!

This weekend the girls and I decorated the inside of our house for Christmas.

Long Weekend

The girls and I are thankful for this long four-day weekend. And time to rest, relax, and play.
