Coronavirus Chronicles: Part 8

Two weeks ago, our state entered Phase 2 of reopening after the lockdown. Last weekend our family took our first overnight trip in three months. Tal and I picked up Savannah and Hadley, who had been staying with Grandma Barbara for a couple days.

After swimming in Harper's neighborhood pool for several hours, these three cousins rode on the golf cart to Uncle Benny and Aunt EJ's house.

After we returned from the pool, the girls loved sliding down the inflatable slide in Uncle Benny and Aunt EJ's backyard.

One of the highlights of our trip was touring Uncle Benny and Aunt EJ's new home for the first time. They have a lovely 3-story waterfront home with beautiful views, lots of windows, and coastal decor!

Tal and Hadley hugged Gran for the first time in 4 months!

After church on Sunday, we ate lunch at The Crab Shack, which is one of Tal's favorite restaurants.

After lunch, we admired the Sound and visited the boats in the marina.

I walked 3.5 miles on the beach next to Grandma Barbara's house. My walk was peaceful and beautiful, and I saw 6 jellyfish on the beach.

After I returned from my walk on the beach, I took Savannah, Harper, and Hadley to the splash pad. They loved playing in the fountains!

While the girls and I played at the splash pad, Tal and Grandma Barbara replaced the wooden boardwalk that connects Grandma Barbara's house and Gran's house. During Hurricane Florence in September 2018, the yard was flooded for a couple weeks, and the original boardwalk became warped and unsafe.
