On June 22, the girls and I drove four hours to see our friends Emily, Xavier, and Felix who live in the Washington, DC area. The girls loved sitting in different seats on the trip. Savannah sat in the front seat, and Hadley sat in Savannah's old seat:
During our visit with Emily's family, the girls enjoyed swimming with Xavier and Felix. Hadley loved playing on the playground next to the pool. She was so proud of herself for swinging on the third rung on the monkey bars!
On June 26, Savannah met her 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Clayton. After Meet the Teacher, Tal and the girls got some frozen yogurt with their favorite toppings:
When Hadley starts preschool on July 29, she is going to miss her babysitter's dog named Mo-Mo. Hadley loves when Mo-Mo sits on her lap or sleeps on her blanket.
On June 27, I surprised Savannah by bringing PDQ for lunch and eating with her and friends in the cafeteria:
On June 27, Savannah had field day and enjoyed participating in 9 activities, including tug of war:
Of all the field day activities, Savannah enjoyed getting wet in the water games and eating a popsicle afterwards:
Savannah got a 3 on her reading end-of-grade test!
On June 28, Grandma Barbara arrived at our house and surprised Savannah and Hadley by bringing their cousin Harper with her! After dinner, all of us went out for ice cream:
On June 28, I stayed home with Harper and Hadley, while Tal, Savannah, and Grandma Barbara had a great time at the Crowder concert. Harper and Hadley spent hours pretending they were camping in our living room. They made a tent with blankets and played in their tent with flashlights:

On June 29, all six of us went the state farmers market, where we bought some watermelon, blueberries, peaches, and sweet corn:
At the farmers market, all of us shared some soft and yummy cookies, including sprinkles, german chocolate, molasses, and Mexican hot chocolate:
This week Savannah and Hadley have been having lots of fun with Grandma Barbara, who sent me some pics of their adventures. One morning, the girls ate breakfast at the waterfront:
They also cooled off at the splash pad with their cousin Harper:
On July 4th, Savannah and Hadley loved doing sparklers and popits at Grandma Barbara's house:
While the girls have been staying with Grandma Barbara this week, Tal and I have enjoyed having a staycation and a few date nights. On one of our date nights, we ate lunch at the Cajun restaurant in our neighborhood:
