Everyday Moments

Life...unedited.
These random iPhone photos are dark, blurry, and untouched,
but they capture everyday moments from this week.

On Monday, I had a workday, which meant a sub taught my classes while I caught up on some library stuff. I picked up Chick-fil-a for lunch for me and Savannah and enjoyed eating lunch with my favorite 4th grader and her friend Gabby in the school cafeteria:

Hadley enjoyed drawing on my Optavia box:

On Thursday, Savannah did the mile run during her PE class. She did a great job running 11 laps on the school playground...on a very cold day in the 40's:

On Thursday, Hadley had her 4 year-old check-up at the pediatrician's office. She scored in the 80th percentile for her height and weight. It was a long and stressful appointment that included a vision and hearing test for Hadley, as well as flu shots for both girls (and two more shots for Hadley). After getting their shots, the girls felt better after getting ice cream cones from McDonald's, taking some Motrin for the pain, and sitting in a warm bath.

Our 2019 photo calendars from Shutterfly arrived this week. The girls immediately ripped open the package and pointed at their favorite pictures:

On Friday night, our family went to Jingle Jam at church, where we had some silly holidays photos taken in the photo booth:

Hadley played doctor and took care of her Pinky bear:

Hadley said she was doing her homework with her two Pinky bears. She told me Pinky boy was on the left and Pinky girl was on the right. Hadley said she was writing her letters on her paper. So cute!

Hadley drew a picture of me. She said, "Mommy, do you see your hair? Do you see your two eyes? Do you see your arms? Do you see your legs?"

Hadley said, "I drew a big dress for me:"

Hadley's reindeer art included her footprints. After the holidays, I will put this in Hadley's memory box.

This morning our family woke up to 7 inches of snow on the ground. After mid-morning, the snow changed to sleet, which continued most of the day:

Our family played in the snow, cleared off our driveway and Tal's truck, and drove around our neighborhood:

Unfortunately, our family suffered some damage during the winter storm:

Part of our gutters broke off the side of our house...

...and a branch got heavy with snow and broke off.
(Thankfully, the branch didn't damage our neighbor's house.)

While our family was snowbound today, we baked cookie brownies:

We also made some pretzel treats with some leftover ingredients:

This afternoon I wrapped and prepared all of our Christmas presents for our extended family:

Savannah enjoyed buying some candy and earrings for her secret pal at school. Savannah put her gifts in bags, so she can deliver them to her secret pal at school this week:
