Everyday Moments

Life...unedited.
These random iPhone photos are dark, blurry, and untouched,
but they capture everyday moments from the last couple weeks.

On Thanksgiving weekend, our family made some yummy holiday treats. We melted Rolos and Hershey's Kisses on pretzels and then topped them with M&Ms and pecans.

On November 30, Savannah and Hadley made stocking photo ornaments at the Home Depot Kids Workshop. They loved nailing the pieces together and then painting their ornaments.

On December 1, we had a playdate at our house with our friends Amanda and Tyson. We made s'mores, drank hot apple cider, and played with slime. Then, we made cookie houses at the public library in our neighborhood. The library staff provided all of the supplies, and as well as did all of the set-up and clean-up.

To build their houses, Savannah, Hadley, and Tyson used frosting to attach graham crackers to an empty milk carton. Then, they decorated their houses with candy canes, licorice, fruit loops, pretzels, and marshmallows.

I think Hadley enjoyed eating the frosting and candy more than making her cookie house. Haha!

Hadley can read and write almost all of her letters. She recently wrote her first words: cat and her name. Since then, Hadley has written Tal, mom, dad, and dog. Proud parent moments!

Savannah lost teeth #6 and #7! She needs to lose one more tooth before she starts phase 2 of braces in early 2020. The tooth fairy has been busy!

In 2020, Savannah is getting a bedroom makeover! We are using Savannah's new comforter (shown below) as the inspiration for the turquoise and purple color scheme that Savannah requested.

Over the last three weeks, Savannah has enjoyed doing the morning news show. With the news crew, she delivered the greeting, closing, lunch, weather, birthday dance, lost and found, joke, and Pledge of Allegiance to our school community.

I recently had a workday. While a sub was teaching my classes, I surprised Savannah by bringing her chicken tenders and sweet tea from PDQ and eating lunch with her and her friends in the cafeteria. I'm cherishing these moments since Savannah will be going to middle school next year.

Unfortunately, Tal had to work long hours on Saturday and Sunday this weekend. When Tal wasn't working, we snuck in a little family time. We ate bacon, strawberry, and cinnamon donuts at Duck Donuts, as well as picked up some paint samples for Savannah's bedroom makeover.

While Tal was working this weekend, the girls and I had lots of girl time. We played at the playground and ate lunch at McDonald's.

The girls also spent a couple hours making holiday bead candy canes and bracelets.
