Covid Chronicles: Part 20

From January 3-13, the girls loved staying with Grandma Barbara and visiting Gran and their cousin Harper. Hadley was tracked-out from school, and Savannah did her remote learning from 8:30-3:00 daily at Grandma's house.

Grandma Barbara took the girls to get haircuts and shopping for new clothes.

Grandma Barbara brought the girls home on January 13. Hadley loved playing Go Fish and Old Maid with Grandma Barbara.

When the girls and I visited a local children's museum in December, a professional photographer took some photos of the girls to promote the museum. Well, a couple weeks ago, the girls showed up on a local Facebook page!

Hadley got her ears pierced when she was 4 months old. However, I removed them when Hadley was two years old because she took out the earrings several times a day and even caused her ears to bleed many times when she took them out. Well, recently Hadley asked me to put in donut earrings, and we discovered that her ear holes are still open!

The girls and I hiked and played at the playground in our neighborhood:

In mid-December, I set a goal to help Hadley learn to read while she was tracked-out from school for five weeks. I purchased the Sight Word Readers boxed set with 25 books that reinforced 50 sight words. Each book focused on two sight words, had 8 pages, and one sentence on each page. During her track-out, Hadley read 3-6 books most days to me or Grandma Barbara. In five weeks, Hadley mastered 50 sight words, improved her reading confidence and fluency, and graduated to another set of sight word books that has two sentences on each page. I'm so proud of Hadley!
