Hadley made handprint art at church on Sunday:
After church on Sunday, the girls and I went to Walmart and participated in the "Dress a Kid for School" program that our church sponsored. 70% of students at the elementary school near our church lack basic needs, including school clothes and supplies:
The girls and I selected a 4th grade girl (like Savannah) and donated a shirt, pants, socks, underwear, and shoes. Participating in the "Dress a Kid for School" program gave our family the opportunity to practice giving and generosity, to discuss the needs in our community, and to be thankful that we have food, shelter, and clothes:
While Savannah was at gymnastics, Hadley and I visited a couple stores and walked to the deli restaurant, where we shared a piece of red velvet cake:
We had girls nights on Tuesday and Wednesday nights because Tal had work dinners and didn't get home until after bedtime. The girls snuggled with me in the recliner, while we watched girl TV (i.e. decorating shows):
On Wednesday, Savannah and I took the afternoon off from school because we had dentist appointments. We enjoyed some girl time, which included eating lunch at Firehouse Subs and doing most of our Christmas shopping for our teachers and extended family:
On Wednesday night, Tal got free tickets to the NC State basketball game that he attended with one of his F3 buddies:
This week was Teacher Appreciation Week at school. I won a basket of goodies, including a school sweatshirt, pens, calendar, and planner:
Tal does outdoor boot camp workouts with his F3 buddies five mornings a week. On Saturday morning, Tal and his F3 buddies ran 10.4 miles during a special event that started at the NC Museum of Art:
While Tal was running in his F3 race, the girls and I returned and checked-out books at the public library in our neighborhood:
We also attended library storytime. The letter of the day was "W," and all of the books and songs were about weather:
Like always, the bubbles at the end of storytime were Hadley's favorite part:
At our local Target store, the girls celebrated Barbie's 60th birthday by decorating and eating sugar cookies. It was a fun activity!
The girls baked blondie bars and...
...and chocolate chess pie for the F3 oyster roast on Saturday night:
On Saturday night, the girls and I enjoyed meeting 18 of Tal's F3 buddies and their families at the F3 oyster roast.
It was a chilly evening, but we stayed warm around the fire pits and heaters in the backyard:
Tal shucked a lot of oysters!
