Everyday Moments

Life...unedited.
These random iPhone photos are dark, blurry, and untouched,
but they capture everyday moments from the last couple weeks.

Tal turned on the sprinklers in our front yard, and the girls had a great time getting wet:

While we were at the beach a couple weeks ago, Hadley had a scary incident with the hotel elevator. She stepped onto the elevator, and the doors closed before the rest of us could get on the elevator. We could hear Hadley screaming as she rode the elevator by herself. (The hotel had 9 floors, and we were on the 4th floor.)  I ran down the stairs, stopped at every floor, and frantically asked people who were waiting for the elevator, "Have you seen a little girl riding an elevator by herself? If you see her, please take her to the hotel front desk!" Thankfully, two good samaritans on the 5th floor rode the elevator with Hadley and reunited her with my mom on the 4th floor. Hadley was shaken up and cried for about 15 minutes, but we were glad she was safe.

My mom and I wondered if Hadley would be afraid to ride an elevator again. The good news is that Hadley wasn't scared at all when we rode the elevator while Savannah was at gymnastics last week.

While Savannah was at gymnastics, Hadley said she wanted to eat cake at the deli. She picked out a slice of lemonade cake for her and Savannah to share:

Savannah finished chapter book #26!

This week the girls asked me to measure them. We have a beautifully imperfect wooden growth ruler in our kitchen area, where we've charted the girls' heights over the last five years:

Check out how much the girls have grown over the last couple months!

Tal and I took the girls to a frozen yogurt place in our neighborhood. Tal wrote Hadley's name on a paper...

...and she hung it on the wall where other customers had left behind notes and drawings:

On Saturday, the girls built Bookworm Bookends at the Home Depot Kids Workshop. It was the quickest (20 minutes) and easiest workshop project they've done. Unfortunately, there wasn't any paint at the workshop, so the girls will have to paint their bookends at home:
