My birthday and Mother's Day gift from Tal and the girls was a weekend trip to Chincoteague Island, VA with my lifelong friend Amanda. Chincoteague Island is a quaint, coastal town that has 3,000 residents and views of the Atlantic Ocean. When I was a child, I read the horse book series Misty of Chincoteague. We visited the Assateague Lighthouse, saw the wild horses, and watched the ocean waves. We enjoyed resting and exploring and look forward to our birthday trip next year!
On our way to Chincoteague Island, we drove through two tunnels.

We ate pasta for dinner at this restaurant.
At sunset, we walked on the waterfront boardwalk.
At the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge, we visited the Assateague Lighthouse, sat on the beach, and watched the ocean waves.
