Fall Vacation 2017: Part 8 (Everyday Moments)

Life...unedited.
These random iPhone photos are dark, blurry, and untouched,
but they capture everyday moments from our fall vacation.

On September 27, I had a workday, which meant a sub taught my 6 classes so I could do some library work:

During my planning period, I picked up lunch from PDQ for me and Savannah. We enjoyed eating chicken tenders and fries in the school cafeteria:

I love the colors that Hadley chose for her painting:

Another beautiful finger painting by Hadley:

Storytime at bedtime with Hadley:

A sweet sisterly moment when Savannah and Hadley snuggled on the couch before bedtime:

The girls snuggled with Grandma Judy in our living room:

On Saturday morning, the girls and I went to family storytime at the public library in our neighborhood:

We enjoyed reading fall stories and singing fall songs at storytime:

On Saturday night, the girls and I took Grandma Judy and Mary to the Krispy Kreme near our house:

The hot glazed donuts are always our favorite, but we enjoyed sampling the cake batter donut and Reese's peanut butter donut:

After church on Sunday, Hadley asked me to take her picture outside her classroom:

Savannah and Hadley played Pop the Pig:

Here's a funny story. Over the last couple weeks, our master bedroom has had a foul odor, so Tal and I have kept our bedroom window open a couple inches. Earlier this week, Tal looked under our bed and discovered the source of the smell: a moldy tuna sandwich. Apparently, one of the girls got hungry and got the tuna from the fridge, but never put it back. Since the weather is getting colder, Tal and I are glad that we can finally lock our bedroom window:

Here's another funny story. Last weekend Tal made two pitchers of sweet tea. He kept saying that the tea had a funny taste, while Hadley kept saying the tea was "hot." Tal solved the mystery. When Savannah was pretending to be a chef, she mixed the cajun seasoning (on the left) with the sugar (on the right) that Tal uses to make tea (hence the cajun-flavored tea):

Hadley helped me do some grocery shopping in Wrightsville Beach:

Hadley sat still while Grandma Judy put her hair in pigtails at the beach:

Hadley showed off her pigtails:

Savannah and Hadley jumped on the trampoline at Evan and Liza's house (who live in the house behind ours):

Last Saturday the girls and I went on the Parade of Homes with Liza, Mary, and Grandma Judy:

On October 1, our family celebrated Tal and Hadley's birthdays. Tal turned 44 on October 3. Hadley will be 3 on October 10:

Tal and Hadley blew out the candles on their ice cream cake from Dairy Queen:

After a day of sunning and swimming at the beach, Savannah fell asleep while she was reading her book:

When it was time to leave Wrightsville Beach, Hadley rode on the luggage cart:

When we returned home from our beach trip, Tal was glad to see his three girls:

I thought Hadley looked adorable sitting on Grandma Judy's purse in the cart, while we browsed at TJMaxx:

On Friday night, we ate dinner with Mary and Grandma Judy at Red Hot and Blue, which is one of our favorite restaurants for BBQ, ribs, baked beans, and corn muffins:

After dinner, we took Mary and Grandma Judy to Duck Donuts, which is one of our favorite NC donut shops:

The hot cinnamon and sugar cake donuts are our favorite...

...but we enjoyed sampling the cinnamon and sugar donut with a pumpkin puree glaze:

Grandma Judy and Hadley at Duck Donuts:

Yesterday Hadley was snuggly because she had a fever and stomach bug. Thankfully, her fever is gone today, and Hadley is feeling better!

Today the girls and I wore our NC State shirts to celebrate the Wolfpack's win over Louisville last night:

This morning Grandma Judy and I took Savannah and Hadley to the park:

The girls enjoyed the slides and swings:
