Everyday Moments

Life...unedited.
These random iPhone photos are dark, blurry, and untouched,
but they capture everyday moments from this week.

Savannah practiced her handstand during gymnastics class:

On Tuesday night, Grandma Barbara, Gran, and Grandaddy arrived at our house. We ate dinner at Golden Corral, where Hadley got her face painted:

On Wednesday, Savannah got two top teeth extracted, so she can get top braces in a couple weeks. Thanks to Grandma Barbara, Gran, and Grandaddy for coming to Savannah's dentist appointment and showing their love and support for our girl:

Savannah was a trooper at the dentist. It took 20 minutes and 8 needles to numb her mouth:

After Savannah got two of her top teeth extracted, she asked to me to take her picture:

After school on Friday, Savannah went to the orthodontist, where she got fitted for her bands and expander. There's a Starbucks Charity Cafe inside the orthodontist's office. The orthodontist covers the cost of the Starbucks coffee, frappes, and smoothies for patients and their families. Each quarter, the orthodontist donates the tips to a local charity:

Hadley got a mocha frappe (without the coffee/caffeine)...

...while Savannah got a vanilla frappe (because she says it tastes like snow cream):

Our AC is broken (again). On Friday, the tech installed a new thermostat. On Monday, he will install a part that will (hopefully) fix an electrical issue, so our house will be cool again:

I used my birthday money from my mom and Tal's mom to buy a black and mint Schwinn 7-speed hybrid cruiser from Walmart. Tal and the girls have been begging me to get a bike, so we can ride our bikes to the public library and on the greenway trails that are both in our neighborhood:

While we were at Walmart, we also got a new bike for Savannah, who had outgrown her other bike. She is excited to have a mountain bike with hand brakes!

We eat pancakes a couple times a week in our house. We're so proud of Savannah for learning how to make chocolate chip pancakes all by herself!

Savannah knows how to read the recipe, make the batter, and turn on the burner to medium heat, as well as pour the batter on the skillet, add chocolate chips, and flip the pancake:

While we were at Target, Hadley thought it was hilarious to try on these gold high heels:

Today Tal spent several hours spreading two truckloads of mulch around our house:

This afternoon the girls and I cooled off at the free splash pad that's near our house:

Doing a cartwheel

The girls thought it was funny to sit on the fountains:

Hadley sat in the shade and ate a snack:

This afternoon Tal hung up our bikes and straightened up our garage...

...to make room for our new chest freezer (that's next to our yellow door)!

Over the last four weeks, Tal and I have been doing Optavia, which is a weight loss program. So far, we each have lost over 15 lbs. by eating five small meals (100 calories each) every 2-3 hours and one lean and green meal each day, as well as drinking more than 64 oz of water daily. We have several health food stores, including Trader Joe's, Sprouts, Fresh Market, and Whole Foods that are 15-30 minutes from our house. Tal and I are excited to have a chest freezer, so we can stock up on discounted meat, as well as quick and healthy foods, including turkey meatballs, meatless meatballs, and chile lime chicken burgers from Trader Joe's, that are approved foods on the Optavia plan.
