Aruba Vacation 2018: Part 8 (Natural Bridge)

On Tuesday, April 3, we took a four-hour bus tour around Aruba. The Natural Bridge was our fourth and final stop on the tour.

Below is a picture of the Natural Bridge...before it collapsed in 2005. The natural arch was made out of limestone. Over the years, wind and waves had chipped away the limestone and formed the bridge.

While we were at the Natural Bridge, our family stopped in the souvenir shop, where we got a snack and used the bathroom. We always had to pay $1 per person to use the public bathrooms in Aruba.

At the souvenir shop, we each got a free puffed pastry (like a turnover) that's a popular Aruban snack:

The Natural Bridge was on the North end of the island. (Our hotel was on the Southern end.) The Aruban government protected the land on the North end, so there weren't any houses or businesses. On the North end of the island, the coast was rocky. The water was dark blue, rough, and 2,000 feet deep. According to our tour guide, sharks swam in the cold, dark waters.
