Everyday Moments

Life...unedited.
These random iPhone photos are dark, blurry, and untouched,
but they capture everyday moments from the last couple weeks.

Hadley made a fashion statement when she wore two different shoes and socks on the wrong feet:

While Savannah was at gymnastics, Hadley and I shared a piece of carrot cake at the deli. Hadley gave the cake two thumbs-up!

Savannah and Hadley thought it was hilarious when they tried on Tal's big dress shoes:

In October, Tal got four new tires on his truck. Last week, he got a flat tire when he ran over a rock in a construction area at work and had to pay $160 for a new tire:

Last Thursday, it was Muffins with Mom at the Book Fair. Savannah and I ate breakfast together before she headed to class. Since the Book Fair opened on November 1, we have sold $12,000 in books. Our goal is to raise $20,000 by Friday, November 17.

On November 10, the girls and I had the day off from school for Veteran's Day. We went to a local mall, where we played in the play area, ate lunch in the food court, and walked through a couple stores:

On Friday night, our family ate dinner at Bad Daddy's Burger Bar for the first time. The burgers were delicious but pricey (so we won't be eating there every week):

After dinner at Bad Daddy's, we went to Krispy Kreme, where we shared donuts for dessert:

For our meals this week, I made tomato chicken tortellini soup, slow cooker pulled pork chili, and crock pot potato soup. (You can find the recipes here, here, and here.)

For the last few months, Savannah has been using this reward chart for her daily and weekly chores:

Most recently, Tal and I have been teaching Savannah how to load and unload the dishwasher, so she can take over this responsibility in a couple weeks:

Yesterday the girls and I had a great time with my friend Emily and her family, who came to Raleigh for the weekend:

Her family stayed in the beautiful Embassy Suites:

Xavier (8), Savannah (8), Hadley (3), and Felix (4)

The kids had a great time swimming in the hotel pool:

After swimming, the girls were exhausted and fell asleep on our way to Tyson's birthday party:

While the girls were napping, I parked in the McDonald's parking lot, where I drank a caramel frappe and enjoyed some peace and quiet:

The girls and I enjoyed celebrating Tyson's 3rd birthday at my lifelong friend Amanda's house. We played with Tyson, ate burgers and hot dogs, watched Tyson open his presents, and ate cake and ice cream:

Tyson and Hadley were born one month apart. Hadley's birthday is on October 10. Tyson's birthday is on November 12:
