Half Bathroom: Part 1 (Design Plan)

Today I'm sharing the design plan for our half bathroom makeover!

Overall, Tal and I are keeping most of our bathroom details simple, neutral, and muted because we want the artwork and tile to be the statement pieces in the room.

We are hanging the large Sydney canvas (24x32) above our toilet and using it as the inspiration for our seafoam and navy color scheme. Tal and I love this painting of the Sydney Opera House and Harbor Bridge because it gives us fond memories of our 10th wedding anniversary trip to Australia.

Last week I started our makeover by painting our bathroom Palladian Blue by Benjamin Moore, which looks like a muted seafoam green in our space. I also spray painted our quatrefoil mirror navy blue to coordinate with the artwork and keep all of the black/oil rubbed bronze fixtures from making the bathroom feel "heavy."

We have not finalized the floor tile yet, but we're considering the black and white ceramic tile below. At less than $4 a square foot, it's an affordable option that would add a lot of interest to our small space.

Tal and I are planning to spend around $800 on our half bath makeover and have already purchased most of the items below. To save money, we are keeping our toilet, pedestal sink, and quatrefoil mirror. Stay tuned!
