Nursery Rhyme Day

Today was Nursery Rhyme Day at Savannah's school. Every Kindergartner dressed up as a nursery rhyme character and recited a rhyme in front of the parents in the gymnasium. Savannah chose to dress up as Little Miss Muffet (check out the spider!) and recited the rhyme with confidence and enthusiasm:

Little Miss Muffet
Sat on a tuffet,
Eating her curds and whey;
Along came a spider,
Who sat down beside her,
And frightened Miss Muffet away.

 Today is Halloween!
Today Hadley is 3 weeks old and weighs 9.6 lbs.
She slept through Savannah's nursery rhyme performance:

The Day Hadley Was Born

Hadley was born on Friday, October 10, 2014.
The photos below tell the story of the day our sweet baby girl entered the world:

Tal and I think it is pretty special that Dr. Anderson (no relation)
delivered both Savannah and Hadley:

Dr. Anderson placed Hadley on my chest right after she was born,
and Tal cut her umbilical cord:

Hadley just minutes after she was born:

Hadley weighed 8 lbs. 2 oz.:

Hadley was born with some strawberry blonde fuzz
on her head (the same color as Savannah's hair):

It meant a lot to us that Uncle Benny drove three hours
to be present for Hadley's birth:

Great Grandaddy Anderson drove 1.5 hours to the hospital
and met Hadley about an hour after she was born:

Lunch Date

Yesterday Grandma Judy, Hadley, and I surprised our favorite Kindergartner at school. We brought Savannah Chick-fil-a for lunch and enjoyed eating with her in the cafeteria with her friends. Savannah was so excited and felt so special!

Hadley, who was 17 days old, slept through lunch:

6th Annual Fair Weigh-In

One of our favorite annual traditions is to get Savannah weighed at the NC State Fair.
Check out how much Savannah has grown over the last five years!

Table for Four

Last night our family attempted to eat dinner at a sit-down restaurant for the first time since Hadley was born. Unfortunately (but not surprisingly), however, Hadley (who is 2 weeks old) commenced to crying shortly after our food arrived. After 15 minutes of trying (unsuccessfully) to soothe Hadley, our family packed up our tasty BBQ dinner and ate it at home. Looks like we'll be eating take-out and fast food for a couple more weeks until Hadley is old enough to go with us to a sit-down restaurant!

Proud Big Sister Savannah

Savannah is excited to be a big sister!

It was love at first sight when Savannah held Hadley for the first time:

Savannah was tracked out from school the week before and after Hadley was born. After three days at home with Mommy, Daddy, and Hadley, Savannah started to get stir crazy. She said she was "over this crying thing" and asked to go to tumbling day camp for three days (probably to get away from Hadley's crying). Haha!
